1924 Ford Model T Fire Engine

 

Not the type of vehicle you come across every day, it appealed to our love of the unusual.  This vehicle started life as a fire engine in a country town in Australia, having been built in the Canadian Ford factory (where all export models were made) as a running chassis & engine.  It was bodied appropriately in Australia and was in use, along with a matching vehicle that carried the water tank, for many years.  More recently, it was fitted out to give children’s rides, and worked hard, again, for some years at it’s new task, before being shipped over to the UK, where we finally found it.  Loads of extras – pumps, extinguishers, lamps, buckets, hoses, and more – to go with this one, we plan on tidying it up over the winter – if it is still with us!
